I’ve had the same response to every one of your EOY articles. Lots of respect for The Quietus, but I’d love to see them embracing something a little fun occasionally. Liquid Mike would do them good!
I'm right there with you on Waxahatchee. For the longest time, her music didn't land with me (I did love the Plains side project, though). Then, about halfway through a first listen of "Bored," it all sorta came together.
I do enjoy being proven wrong and eating my words. Sometimes it goes the other way too - I loved Black Country, New Road's "Ants from Up There" on release and six months later I could barely understand why.
