I’m loving that Heartworms album, one of my top releases of the month. The mindsone song was great. I’d probably consider myself a “dabbler” in hip hop and I liked what I heard in that track. I think I kinda glossed over Kestrels on my first listen. I’ll need to go back for another listen and pay more attention. I didn’t realize they were from Halifax, a town I have quite a fondness for after attending university there in the 90s.
I’m still warming to Blindness. Not surprising as Gigi’s Recovery was a slow burn for me as well. My initial reaction to my first listen of the Cloakroom album was it was quite a diverse record. Looking forward to spending some more time with it.
Really happy people are connecting with Youth Lagoon. It’s not my most played album of the month, but it feels like one I’ll be returning to for years to come.
It’s great isn’t it? The label’s Bandcamp has a “For Fans Of” note that basically lists all my favourite Hip Hop. They definitely deserve a bigger audience.
