Thanks Mark. Some great picks on your list too - I hope you find something extra, although it seems you listened to a lot of music this month already. Welcome to Yorkshire too, by the way!
Now on the train from London heading north and have had the chance to listen to the full playlist. I loved seeing The Horrors on here as it’s one of my favorites of the last month, topped only by the Greentea Peng release.
Divorce was new to me and I’ve enjoyed what I’ve heard of the album so far; it will definitely get some more listens.
The Hannah Cohen track is lovely and though I sampled the album when it was released on Friday it’s clear to me now that I want to spend some more time with it.
While YHWN Nailgun are definitely not in my wheelhouse, I’ve found myself compelled to dip in and out of the album from time to time. It’s not something that would end up on my AOTY list as it’s not an album I’d listen to from start to finish, but it’s an intriguing listen.
Thanks for the welcome to Yorkshire! This relocation has been a long time coming and we’re excited to be able to get out walking in the Lakes and the Dales regularly without having to fly all the way from Bermuda!
That Saba & No ID album is indeed a gem! You might also dig new releases from Consumables (Infinite Games) and Tea Eater (I Don't Believe In Bad Luck).
I know - I think GBV came to mind about 15 seconds into the record for me. And I definitely got that 60s/Beatles vibe you picked up as well. It’s such a great listen!
Some great picks here! Although they didn’t make my list this month, I’m with you on the Moreish Idols and Sharp Pins releases.
Here’s what was in heavy rotation for me in March: https://open.substack.com/pub/joyinthejourney/p/new-music-sampler-march-2025

Brilliant, I will get on the case with those two - I haven’t heard either!
that's basically what i said about sharp pins, too! (the GBV comparison). and we didn't even compare notes this time!
